Credit Score
Your credit score is the first thing a loan officer looks at. You need to know what that is before you start your loan application. Here are the most used credit rating sites:
Equifax
Experian
Fairi Isaac
MyFico

For up to date mortgage interest rates, try these sites:
HSH Associates — this site has lots of great information, such as sources of private mortgage insurance.
MortgageLoan.com has a good mortgage calculator as well as up to date interest rates.
RealEstateabc.com has information about rates and why they change as well as predictions about changes and trends. For example, this site predicts that rates will rise slightly in late February.

The site also has a good calculator for a whole list of things you’ll want to know such as what your payment will be on a particular loan, what the entire PITI payment will be, how much income you’ll need to qualify for a particular loan, and how to figure out whether you should pay down your mortgage or put some money in a different investment.

To calculate your closing (or settlement) costs try these sites:
CalcBuilder is a calculator only. You’ll need to have your figures at hand.
HUD: Homes & Communities is the HUD site which contains lots of information about what is involved at closing as well as an itemization of each of the amounts found on the HUD closing statement.
